Carol Jean Hoffman was born March 12, 1946 in Hampton, IA. to Walter and Mabel (Baker) Hoffman. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1964. She earned her BS in Elementary Education in 1968 from Wartburg College in Waverly and has done post-graduate at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA., Drake University in Des Moines, IA., and Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. Prior to her retirement, she taught second grade at the Ackley-Geneva-Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock schools for 38 years where she continues to serve as a mentor and helper. She is a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls where she has served as a Bible school instructor and sings in the choir. She has also served as a hospice volunteer as well as a greeter gift shop volunteer at Franklin General Hospital in Hampton, IA. She is a Rotarian and is a member of the retired teachers service sorority. In her spare time she enjoys playing piano and organ, singing, cross stitching, sewing, reading, cooking, and attending sporting events.
